Quinquennial: Dungeons of the Scar
Quinquennial: Dungeons of the Scar is an upcoming fantasy-themed, hybrid-genre game for Windows and Android devices that is part dungeon crawler, part RPG, and part tactics. Inspired by Ultima Underworld and its modern counterpart Barony, the classics NetHack and Final Fantasy Tactics, and probably more! Featuring a 3D retro voxel graphics style, it includes CRPG-style leveling up, different character classes and skills, valuable or interesting treasure to find, indefinite to infinite number of procedurally generated dungeons with varying themes and monsters, gear with stats, and lots more. This is interwoven with an above ground in-world game mode having a story & wilderness exploration, role playing, town locations, and a full campaign of turn-based tactical battles for you to master using your customizable dragon automaton. All with the aim of winning the final fight. You have only five years to prepare…

Current status: Early Alpha.
Release date: As soon as I can get it done right! I hope this will be by Q4 2025, but I make no promises.
Publisher: Self (ABCodeworld).
Classic CRPG style dungeon crawling with a mix of realtime and turn-based combat. You must gather materials, knowledge, and personal experience, to succeed in the dragon automaton fighting circuit! This knowledge and power is found deep in the procedurally generated dungeons, catacombs, towers and other monster infested places that make it deadly to travel into the countryside!
Tactical turn-based battles using your customizable dragon automaton versus other dragon automatons to win money, salvage, and advance your rank to qualify for the tournament, by the time five years passes in the game! Your skill as an artificer will be tested.
Story development, exploration, and interaction with NPCs takes place in a city. You will be able to walk the streets and enter relevant locations such as artificers’ shops, the palace, your hideout, the Mech-Sages’ guild and barracks, and more.
Your hideout (a combination of residence and workshop) can be personalized in layout and contents. Aka sandbox mode! Add a storage room or mount a creature trophy on the wall, etc.
Level up your character’s skills depending on your choice of class, and use your adventuring spoils to grow your automaton’s power alongside your own.
Many stats and skills to try out different play experiences, and several classes planned for release!
Enhance your customized dragon automaton with new designs and capabilities… but be ready to foot the bill if it gets smashed up in a fight!
Unlock the secrets of stellar metals to gain temporal magic abilities in dungeon game play!
Learn the origin of the blighted countryside known as The Scar, the history of how the dragons were banished, and why the Sovereign wants all the stellar metal.
Keep your true identity concealed as you rise through the ranks of the Mech-Sages, a technology focused branch of the Sovereign’s overpowering military forces.
Control it your way - pure touch / click with no on-screen controls, or a movement panel that offers continuous smooth movement and turning if you hold the buttons, or retro-style tile to tile movement if you tap / click the buttons.
In the dungeons, various UI panels are available, that you can show or hide at your choosing. Except during combat, combat controls are shown and can’t be turned off until (if) you win. ;)
Playable in any screen orientation. It changes in real-time along with your device. No need to adjust settings or restart!
Full Graphics and Low Graphics modes will be offered. In Low Graphics mode, this game will be decently playable on devices that are several years old. On more recent devices, this game will run in Full Graphics mode at the maximum recommended frame rate for mobile games (30 FPS).
