Free Unity Tools
Updates
June 20, 2025: It’s been many months since my last website update, but I have been working away nonetheless.
I released a couple more new Unity tools on the Asset Store. All my things there are now free, since I’d rather have a few hundred users than 5 purchasers! I thought they were cheap enough. I’m a terrible marketer, heheh! Gulp…
I’ve been mainly working on Quinquennial, getting the vision fleshed out more and things in shape for more public exposure. Steam product page and Kickstarter campaign hopefully soon to follow. I plan to involve more people in testing in the not too distant future. At that point I will put up a tester registration page here.
October 25, 2024: VOXORex updated to v1.4 - now you can optimize your VOXORex meshes and animate vertex colours!
October 11, 2024: VOXORex updated to v1.3 with another major feature: colour your voxelized mesh by the source mesh’s materials!
October 03, 2024: VOXORex updated to v1.2 with major new features: voxelize from any mesh, voxelize from text !
September 18, 2024: VOXORex updated to v1.1 with minor improvements for runtime usage.
September 13, 2024: It has been listed as a feature for a long time, now you can see it: a first concept video for Tactical Battle Mode (TBM) in my upcoming game Quinquennial! This is a major part of the game, along with the dungeon game play already revealed. I have also redone those videos, one heavily annotated to explain stuff, the other one to demo portrait screen mode. You can turn off the subtitles if you find them intrusive! :)
September 06, 2024: Sooner than I expected, my image-to-voxelized mesh tool for Unity, VOXORex, has been approved for release! This also marks my official debut as a Unity Asset Store Publisher. This is a tool I will be using to help make my next game, as mentioned in the last update. The walls you see in the demo videos are made with VOXORex.
September 04, 2024: Quinquennial has gone voxel! This is both a world building decision and an art style, something I was in need of. I love the blocky retro look & feel of voxels, and nostalgic fun is one thing I’m going for here. Development is coming along nicely. I’ve spent the last month or so on voxel-based tools and an asset workflow so I can bring that style to the game. Check out the game page to see what I’m talking about.
September 04, 2024: All the game info has been moved to separate pages, which you can access with the links above.
